EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

Palmyra Public Safety Department provides Emergency Medical Services response within the Village and Town of Palmyra and is a Wisconsin licensed Ambulance Service Provider.

The ambulance is staffed using a combination of employees staffed in the Public Safety Building, on call volunteers who respond from home and full time Public Safety Officers. All EMS staff hold EMS licensing through the State of Wisconsin.

Paramedic Level Advanced Life Support is provided via Paramedic intercept by Western Lakes Fire District. We also have Paramedic Intercept agreements in place with Ryan Brothers Ambulance and Mukwonago Fire Department.

MEDICAL CONTROL

Palmyra Public Safety Department receives Medical Direction and Medical Control from Aurora Medical Center in Summit, WI. AMC Summit is a Level II Trauma Center located at the the I-94 and State Highway 67 Interchange. Our Medical Director is Dr Christopher George, M.D. who oversees our EMS protocols and patient care delivered by our responders. 24 hour online Medical Control is provided to our Emergency Medical Technicians by the on duty Emergency Department Physician.

In addition, on going training and continuing education is conducted with our personnel by Aurora providers who are experts in their fields.  Our partnership with Aurora Health Care provides for a collaborative training environment with several other departments.  This training can be attended live at any of the training sites or can be live streamed over the internet at the time of delivery.  An online training portal allows providers to complete training individually.  This has allowed volunteers the ability to receive high quality training at times that work with their personal obligations.
